Data released by China's National Bureau of Statistics shows that coal prices nationwide continued to decline in early February. Specific price changes for various coal types are as follows:

Anthracite (washed medium lump, volatile matter ≤8%) priced at 923.0 RMB/ton, down 12.8 RMB/ton from the previous period, a 1.4% decline.

Ordinary mixed coal (Shanxi pulverized coal blended with lump coal, calorific value 4500 kcal) priced at 599.5 RMB/ton, down 36.3 RMB/ton from the previous period, a 5.7% decline.

Shanxi Large-Mix (higher-quality mixed coal, calorific value 5000 kcal) priced at 699.5 RMB/ton, down 31.5 RMB/ton or 4.3% from the previous period.

Shanxi Premium-Mix (premium mixed coal, calorific value 5500 kcal) priced at 800.5 RMB/ton, down 27.0 RMB/ton or 3.3% from the previous period.

Datong Mixed Coal (Datong-produced mixed coal, calorific value 5800 kcal) was priced at 844.6 RMB/ton, down 28.4 RMB/ton or 3.3% from the previous period.

Coking Coal (main coking coal, sulfur content <1%) was priced at 1509.4 RMB/ton, down 98.9 RMB/ton or 6.1% from the previous period.

Data indicates that prices for anthracite, thermal coal, and coking coal all declined in early December, with the rate of decline accelerating for all categories.

Additionally, in early December, the national price for coke (quasi-grade metallurgical coke, ash content 12.01% ≤ 13.50%) was CNY1,496.4 per ton, down CNY50.0 per ton from the previous period, representing a 3.2% decrease.
