The Shanghai Petroleum and Natural Gas Exchange announced on the 12th that the China Pipeline Natural Gas Spot Price for the week (December 6-12) stood at 2.47 yuan per cubic meter. This marks the official launch of China's first nationwide pipeline natural gas spot price based on online trading.
The “China Pipeline Natural Gas Spot Price” is primarily derived from the online trading prices of pipeline natural gas at the Shanghai Petroleum and Natural Gas Exchange. It is released every Friday, or on the last working day before public holidays if the release date falls on a holiday.
“The ‘China Pipeline Natural Gas Spot Price’ reflects the price level of pipeline natural gas delivered to the starting points of long-distance natural gas pipelines in various provinces within China for both the current and next month, excluding annual contracts and medium-to-long-term agreements,” said a representative from the Shanghai Petroleum and Natural Gas Exchange. " Alongside the national spot price, we will also release provincial-level spot prices for pipeline natural gas."
Additionally, the Shanghai Petroleum and Natural Gas Exchange will publish the “China Pipeline Natural Gas Spot Monthly Average Price” at the end of each month.
Established under the direct guidance of the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration, and approved by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, the Shanghai Petroleum and Natural Gas Exchange serves as a vital platform for deepening market-based reforms in China's oil and gas pricing system.
