According to customs statistics, China imported 240,000 metric tons of ethylene in October 2025, representing a month-on-month decrease of 16.27% and a year-on-year increase of 15.01%. China exported 25,820 metric tons of ethylene, marking a month-on-month decline of 50.13% and a year-on-year drop of 99.8%. From January to October 2025, China's cumulative ethylene imports reached 2.3564 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 33.76%. Cumulative ethylene exports totaled 15,300 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 76.37%.
From January to October 2025, China's ethylene imports were primarily conducted through general trade and processing trade, accounting for 83.47% and 16.53% respectively. Supplies mainly originated from South Korea, Japan, and Oman. Imports from South Korea reached 1.6463 million tons, representing 69.86% of the total; imports from Japan totaled 448,500 metric tons, accounting for 19.03%; and imports from Oman reached 131,600 metric tons, representing 5.58%.
China's ethylene exports were primarily conducted through general trade, mainly destined for Indonesia, Pakistan, and Taiwan, China. Exports to Indonesia totaled 7,300 metric tons, accounting for 47.37%; exports to Pakistan reached 4,300 metric tons, representing 27.87%; and exports to Taiwan, China amounted to 3,500 metric tons, constituting 22.86%.
