According to the latest customs data, China imported 83,700 metric tons of vinyl chloride monomer products in October 2025, marking a year-on-year increase of 133.22% and a month-on-month rise of 42.19%. China's exports of vinyl chloride products totaled 7,100 metric tons, down 60.82% year-on-year and 21.32% month-on-month. From January to October 2025, China's cumulative imports of vinyl chloride monomer products reached 631,400 metric tons, up 3.34% year-on-year; cumulative exports of vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) products amounted to 128,200 metric tons, down 8.45% year-on-year.
By import/export regions, in October 2025, China imported vinyl chloride monomer products from Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea. Imports via general trade and processing trade amounted to 33,000 metric tons from Japan, 30,000 metric tons from Taiwan, and 20,700 metric tons from South Korea. In October 2025, China's VCM exports were destined for India and Vietnam, with 4,100 metric tons exported to India and 3,000 metric tons to Vietnam under general trade arrangements. From January to October 2025, China's primary import sources for vinyl chloride monomer products were Japan, Taiwan, China, and South Korea. Imports from Japan totaled 322,200 metric tons, accounting for 51.02% of the total; imports from Taiwan, China totaled 175,200 metric tons, accounting for 27.74%; and imports from South Korea reached 134,100 metric tons, representing 21.24%. From January to October 2025, Vietnam and India were the primary export destinations for China's vinyl chloride monomer products. Exports to Vietnam amounted to 50,900 metric tons, accounting for 39.68%, while exports to India reached 50,300 metric tons, representing 39.24%.
