According to the business data analysis system of SunSirs, the price of color coated sheets fell slightly last week. On December 1st, the market price of color coated sheets was 6,400 RMB/ton, and on December 5th, the price was 6,383 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.265% compared to the previous week and a decrease of 6.13% compared to the same period last year.

Market Analysis

Galvanized Sheet: Last week, the price of galvanized sheets experienced a slight decline. On Friday (December 5th), the price of galvanized sheets was 4,138 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.096% compared to the previous week and a decrease of 6.167% compared to the same period last year. Downstream demand in the coated steel market remained lukewarm, resulting in weak market transactions.

Market Forecast:

Last Friday, the supply of the five major steel products totaled 8.2895 million tons, a decrease of 267,600 tons from the previous week, representing a 3.1% decrease; total inventory was 13.6559 million tons, a decrease of 352,200 tons from the previous week, representing a 2.5% decrease; weekly apparent consumption was 8.6417 million tons, a decrease of 2.7% week-on-week, with construction materials consumption decreasing by 5.8% and plate steel consumption decreasing by 0.9%.

Considering the approaching off-season, although most factories were facing continuously rising costs, they were maintaining their shipping volumes and keeping their quoted prices firm at high levels. Last week, most domestic plants were operating normally, but production and sales were not yet balanced, resulting in a slight increase in inventory. Therefore, coated steel sheet prices are expected to remain relatively stable in the short term.
