Recently, the Chicken's Foot Mountain lithium mine in Linyu County, Hunan Province has been officially issued a "Mining License" by the Ministry of Natural Resources. This is the first lithium mine project in the province to directly transform from a prospecting right to a mining right, marking a new stage in the development of lithium resources in Hunan.
According to the introduction, the total resource of lithium ore in the mining area is 490 million tons, which is equivalent to about 3.2443 million tons of lithium carbonate. The mining area plans to mine 20 million tons per year, and it is expected to produce 80,000 tons of lithium carbonate per year. The "integration of mining, beneficiation and smelting" development model will be adopted, which will lay a solid foundation for the creation of a lithium battery new energy industry chain.
"Oil and gas exploration permits are key documents to drive the development of the mining industry," said the person in charge of Hunan Dazhonghe Lithium Mine Co., Ltd. "The company will accelerate the construction of the project to ensure the completion of the first phase, which aims to mine and process 20 million tons of ore per year and produce 20,000 tons of lithium carbonate." At the same time, the company will adopt the mining method of "first above ground and then underground" to ensure the continuity of resource mining and achieve the sustainability of the development process; it will also start the lithium tailings harmless comprehensive utilization project, using advanced lithium tailings treatment technology to effectively promote green development.
The relevant person in charge of the Department of Natural Resources of Hunan Province stated that the approval of this mining permit is a concrete practice of the "separation of rights and permits" system under the new mineral resources law. The exploration right was directly converted into a mining right after professional assessment, significantly simplifying the approval process, and passed the national-level reserve review and strict environmental protection scheme review, providing a reference for the efficient and compliant development of mineral resources nationwide.
