According to the commodity price analysis system of SunSirs: At the beginning of the week, the price of activated charcoal was 12,833 RMB/ton, and at the end of the week, the price was 12,866 RMB/ton, representing a price increase of 0.26%.

Market Analysis

Domestic prices for coconut shell activated charcoal rose last week. The ex-factory price of coconut shell activated charcoal for water purification in East China ranged from 9,500 to 13,000 RMB/ton.  Demand for coconut shell activated charcoal was strong in areas such as water treatment, air purification, and sodium-ion batteries. Furthermore, extended shipping times, increased warehousing costs, and stricter environmental regulations had driven up import costs, providing support for the price increase.

Due to natural disasters and policy adjustments in major coconut-producing countries in Southeast Asia, there was a shortage of coconut shell charcoal, leading to price increases. The FOB price of coconut shell charcoal was approximately $898-901 per ton in Indonesia, $924-928 per ton in Sri Lanka, and $958-980 per ton in India.

Market Forecast:

Due to tight supply of domestic coconut shell activated charcoal raw materials and increasing demand, activated charcoal prices are expected to fluctuate at high levels in the short term.
