Price trend

According to the SunSirs' commodity market analysis system, bromine prices generally rose this month. The average market price at the beginning of the month was 30,000 RMB/ton, and the average market price at the end of the week was 32,800 RMB/ton, representing a 9.33% increase and a 46.43% increase compared to the same period last year.

On November 27th, the SunSirs bromine index was 115.09 points, unchanged from the previous day, down 53.06% from the highest point of 245.18 (October 27, 2021) within the cycle, and up 95.33% from the lowest point of 58.92 (October 29, 2014). (Note: The cycle refers to September 1, 2011 to present).

Market Analysis

Bromine prices in Shandong province remained firm. The spot ex-factory price was around 32,500-33,000 RMB/ton, with the mainstream transaction price temporarily at 32,500 RMB/ton. Due to weather and policy reasons, domestic bromine enterprises still faced tight inventories, resulting in insufficient industry operating rates, but downstream enterprises' purchasing enthusiasm was generally low.

Regarding raw materials: domestic sulfur prices rose, with the average market price at the beginning of the month at 3,284.33 RMB/ton and the average market price at the end of the month at 3,844.33 RMB/ton, an increase of 17.05%, and a 133.79% increase compared to the same period last year. Downstream demand was acceptable.

Market Forecast:

Bromine prices were trending upwards recently and this month, while upstream sulfur prices were also trending upwards this month. Bromine supply was temporarily tight, but downstream buyers were mostly purchasing on an as-needed basis and were resistant to bromine price increases. Overall, it is expected that bromine prices will continue to consolidate in the near future, depending on downstream market demand.
