According to data from the SunSirs' commodity market analysis system: the price of activated charcoal at the beginning of the month was 12,633 RMB/ton, and the price at the end of the month was 12,800 RMB/ton, an increase of 1.32%.

Market Analysis

Domestic activated charcoal manufacturers raised their prices this month, with the ex-factory price of coconut shell activated charcoal for water purification (iodine value 1,000) ranging from 11,000 to 13,500 RMB/ton. Demand in traditional fields such as water treatment in China was steadily increasing, and the demand for hard carbon anodes driven by the industrialization of sodium ion exchange was also growing, directly driving the demand for high-purity coconut shell activated charcoal imports.

As of November 28th, raw material supply was tight. Southeast Asia's main producing regions experienced reduced coconut production due to natural disasters and adjustments in planting structures, leading to a shortage of charcoal. Increased competition among processing enterprises in producing areas had intensified competition, causing raw material prices to rise. In October, coconut shell charcoal imports totaled 14,652.8 tons, a 9% decrease month-on-month but an 11% increase year-on-year.

Market Forecast:

Domestic demand for coconut shell activated charcoal is increasing, and the price of activated charcoal is expected to fluctuate with a upward trend in the short term.
