According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the price of sodium metabisulfite in China rose last week. The average price of industrial grade sodium metabisulfite was 1,966 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week and 1,986 RMB/ton at the end of the week, an increase of 1.02%.

Analysis review

Last week, the domestic market price of industrial-grade sodium metabisulfite (96.5% purity) rose. The price of upstream soda ash remained stable, while the price of sulfur rose by 8.29% and the price of downstream caprolactam rose by 0.64%. The increase in the prices of upstream raw materials and downstream chemical products supported the rise in the price of sodium metabisulfite.

Market outlook

The domestic sodium metabisulfite market had seen a recovery in transactions, and prices are expected to fluctuate with a slight upward trend in the short term.
