With weak fundamentals, Shandong n-butanol continued its downward trend

At the beginning of the week, major Shandong manufacturers offered further discounts to move inventory, lowering the ex-factory price of n-butanol by 50 RMB/ton. On November 10th, the market price of n-butanol in Shandong was around 5,150-5,200 RMB/ton.

Market Factors Analysis

On the demand side: As of November 10, the trading atmosphere in the Shandong n-butanol market was sluggish, with a strong wait-and-see attitude. Downstream users of n-butanol were operating cautiously, with inquiries and purchases mostly focused on low-end discussions and few high-priced transactions. Overall, the market was mainly focused on purchasing for immediate needs when prices were low.

On the supply side: As of November 10, the supply of n-butanol in the market remained ample, with the overall market supply exceeding demand, increasing supply pressure.

On the cost side: Fluctuations in propylene prices provided limited overall cost support for n-butanol. According to data from SunSirs, on November 10th, the benchmark price for propylene was 5,890.75 RMB/ton, a decrease of 2.76% compared to the beginning of the month (6,058.25 RMB/ton).

Market Forecast:

As of November 10, a wait-and-see attitude prevailed in the Shandong n-butanol market, with slow transmission between supply and demand. According to data analysts at SunSirs, the Shandong n-butanol market is expected to consolidate within a narrow range in the short term, and further attention should be paid to changes in supply and demand.
