Price trend:
The domestic phenol market stabilized gradually after a sharp decline in November. Sinopec's listed price in East China was 6,300 RMB/ton. According to data monitored by SunSirs, the domestic phenol market price in East China was 6,415 RMB/ton on November 1st and 6,292 RMB/ton on November 10th, a decrease of 1.91%.
Market Analysis
Since November, phenol prices have continued to decline. On the supply side, the estimated shipment volume of phenol in East China was 17,000 tons, and the overall operating rate of domestic enterprises was around 75%. On the demand side, downstream bisphenol A demand was expected to increase, while other downstream demand remained largely unchanged. On the cost side, overall fluctuations were minimal.
On November 10th, Hengli Petrochemical's 650,000-ton/year plant underwent a temporary maintenance shutdown. Traders may be inclined to hold firm on prices, leading to a slight increase in quotations, but actual transactions remained uncertain.
