SunSirs: The Domestic Titanium Dioxide Market Saw a Slight Increase in October
November 05 2025 16:14:40SunSirs(John)

Price trend

Taking the sulfuric acid method rutile titanium dioxide with a large volume of goods in the domestic market as an example, according to data monitoring by SunSirs, the domestic titanium dioxide market saw a steady increase in October. The average price of titanium dioxide was 13,820 RMB/ton on October 1st and 13,860 RMB/ton on October 31st, representing an increase of 0.29%.

Analysis review

The domestic titanium dioxide market saw a steady increase in October. Several titanium dioxide companies, including Longbai, Jinhai, Dawn, and CNNC, successively issued letters raising their prices. However, downstream demand remained weak, and the actual performance was not optimistic. Furthermore, the recent two rounds of price increases had already exhausted some future demand, leading to a strong wait-and-see attitude in the market at the end of the month. The market remained in a stalemate, with actual transaction prices remaining flexible. As of October 31, domestic rutile titanium dioxide produced by the sulfuric acid process was priced between 13,200-14,200 RMB/ton; anatase was around 12,000-12,500 RMB/ton; and chloride-process titanium dioxide was priced between 13,600-16,500 RMB/ton. Actual transaction prices were negotiated on a case-by-case basis.

According to customs data, China imported 6,382.35 tons of titanium dioxide in September 2025, a year-on-year decrease of 23.20% and a month-on-month increase of 86.01%. Of this, 2,930.79 tons were imported via the sulfuric acid process and 3,451.56 tons via the chloride process. From January to September, total titanium dioxide imports reached 56,900 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 20.51%. Imports via the sulfuric acid process totaled 22,700 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.12%, while imports via the chloride process totaled 34,200 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 28.96%.

In September 2025, China exported 156,000 tons of titanium dioxide, an increase of 6.52% year-on-year and 12.68% month-on-month. Of this, 128,000 tons were exported via the sulfuric acid process and 28,800 tons via the chloride process. From January to September 2025, China's cumulative titanium dioxide exports totaled approximately 1,346,400 tons, a decrease of 6.5% year-on-year; of which, cumulative exports via the sulfuric acid process totaled 1,090,900 tons, a decrease of 7.4% year-on-year; and exports via the chloride process totaled 255,500 tons, a decrease of 2.5% year-on-year.

Market Forecast:

According to analysts at SunSirs, several titanium dioxide companies issued letters this month raising prices, but market confidence remained weak, with a strong bearish sentiment. Downstream factories were not showing much enthusiasm for purchasing, putting pressure on titanium dioxide producers. It is expected that some prices may decline in the short term, with actual transaction prices to be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
