On October 31st, the average purchase price of A-grade waste yellow cardboard in Zhejiang Province was 1,874 RMB/ton, an increase of 8.83% compared to the average price on October 1st. In October, the price of domestic waste yellow cardboard continued to rise due to factors such as rainfall, low recycling volume, and rising prices of finished paper. In addition, the market supply and demand tend to be less than demand, and some packaging stations are reluctant to sell, resulting in an overall shortage of waste yellow cardboard supply. The intention of paper mills to start production is good, and confidence in the finished paper market has been restored. Some paper mills have increased their inventory reserves of wastepaper, which has led to an expansion in demand for waste yellow board paper. This has caused the price of wastepaper to continue to rise and reach a new year high.

On the supply side, the price trend of corrugated paper in October was basically linked to the price of raw material wastepaper, both showing an upward trend. Due to the shutdown and maintenance of many paper mills during the National Day holiday, the production and supply of corrugated paper are low, and the inventory of paper mills shows a decreasing trend, resulting in less market supply pressure. In addition, most large-scale paper companies have raised the price of corrugated paper in multiple bases, which has driven small and medium-sized enterprises in the market to follow suit and increase prices. Paper companies in many regions have a strong willingness to raise prices.

On the demand side: Although downstream demand has weakened after the National Day holiday in October, it is still in the stage of moderate inventory preparation for downstream secondary factories due to factors such as raw material cost pressure and machine shutdown and maintenance arrangements in some areas of paper enterprises. In addition, the trend of buying up and not buying down has an impact, so the trading atmosphere in the market is still acceptable. At present, the market is gradually entering the peak demand season, supported by orders from e-commerce festivals, New Year's Day and other holidays, with an expected increase in demand. However, tariff policies are still unclear, and export orders may have limited growth.
