The market price of color coated sheets was 6,516 RMB/ton on October 20, and the price is 6,516 RMB/ton on October 24, a decrease of 0.519% from the previous week and an increase of 0.246% from the same period last year.

Analysis review

Galvanized Steel: Galvanized steel prices fall slightly this week, reaching 4,190 RMB/ton on Friday (October 24th), a 0.166% decrease from the previous week and a 4.05% decrease from the same period last year. Downstream demand in the coating and plating market remains tepid, resulting in weak market transactions.

Market outlook

This week, the supply of the five major steel varieties is 8.6532 million tons, a weekly increase of 83,700 tons, an increase of 1.0%; the total inventory is 15.5485 million tons, a weekly decrease of 274,100 tons, a decrease of 1.7%; the apparent consumption is 8.9273 million tons, a month-on-month increase of 2.2%: among them, building materials consumption increases by 4.4%, and plate consumption increases by 1.1%.

Considering the arrival of the off-season, despite rising costs, most factories are still shipping, and their quotations remain high. This week, most domestic plants are operating normally, production and sales are not yet balanced, and inventory is slightly accumulated. It is expected that the price of color coated sheet will remain basically stable in the short term.
