According to the monitoring of 500 county-level markets and collection points across the country, the prices of chicken, beef cattle, sheep meat, and corn increased month-on-month in the 5th week of September (as of September 30th), while the prices of pig products, eggs, and commercial broiler chicks decreased month-on-month. The prices of commercial broiler chicks, fresh milk, soybean meal, and compound feed remained unchanged month-on-month.

Pig product prices. The average price of piglets nationwide was 28.25 RMB per kilogram, down 2.8% week-on-week and down 24.9% year-on-year. Piglet prices in all 29 monitoring provinces across the country fell. The price in the South China region was higher, at 30.70 RMB per kilogram; the price in the North China region was lower, at 26.85 RMB per kilogram. The average price of live pigs nationwide was 13.27 RMB per kilogram, down 1.8% week-on-week and down 27.8% year-on-year. Live pig prices rose in Inner Mongolia and fell in 29 provinces including Hubei, Guangxi, Guangdong, Shanghai, Fujian, etc. The price in the South China region was higher, at 14.06 RMB per kilogram; the price in the Northeast region was lower, at 12.80 RMB per kilogram. The average price of pork nationwide was 24.17 RMB per kilogram, down 0.5% week-on-week and down 20.1% year-on-year. Pork prices rose in Chongqing, Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, Qinghai, Guizhou, etc. 7 provinces; fell in 22 provinces including Hubei, Guangxi, Anhui, Shanghai, Jiangxi, etc.; and was flat in Jilin. The price in the South China region was higher, at 27.26 RMB per kilogram; the price in the Northeast region was lower, at 20.87 RMB per kilogram.

Poultry product prices. The national average price of eggs was 9.34 RMB per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week, down 17.6% year-on-year. The average egg price in Hebei, Liaoning and other 10 major producing provinces was 8.25 RMB per kilogram, down 0.1% from the previous week and down 20.0% year-on-year. The national average price of chicken was 22.62 RMB per kilogram, up 0.2% from the previous week and down 4.8% year-on-year. The average price of commercial egg chicks was 3.73 RMB per chick, down 0.3% from the previous week and down 4.6% year-on-year. The average price of commercial meat chicks was 3.45 RMB per chick, unchanged from the previous week and down 6.0% year-on-year.

Prices of beef and mutton products. The average price of beef nationwide was 71.26 RMB per kilogram, up 0.2 percent week-on-week and up 5.0 percent year-on-year. The price of beef in Hebei, Inner Mongolia and other 10 major producing provinces was 65.46 RMB per kilogram, up 0.2 percent week-on-week. The live cattle price in major producing provinces was 27.16 RMB per kilogram, up 0.1 percent week-on-week and up 13.6 percent year-on-year. The average price of mutton nationwide was 70.13 RMB per kilogram, up 0.5 percent week-on-week and down 0.1 percent year-on-year. The mutton price in Hebei, Inner Mongolia and other 10 major producing provinces was 67.92 RMB per kilogram, up 0.5 percent week-on-week. The live sheep price in major producing provinces was 29.33 RMB per kilogram, up 0.4 percent week-on-week and up 2.2 percent year-on-year.

Fresh milk price. Inner Mongolia, Hebei and other 10 major producing provinces, the average price of fresh milk is 3.04 RMB / kilogram, unchanged from the previous week, down 3.2% year-on-year.

Feed prices. The national average price of corn is 2.49 RMB per kilogram, up 0.4% week-on-week and up 2.5% year-on-year. The corn price in the main producing areas of Northeast China is 2.31 RMB per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week; the corn price in the main consuming area of Guangdong Province is 2.54 RMB per kilogram, up 0.4% week-on-week. The national average price of soybean meal is 3.28 RMB per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week, down 3.8% year-on-year. The average price of compound feed for fattening pigs is 3.38 RMB per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week, down 1.5% year-on-year. The average price of compound feed for broilers is 3.51 RMB per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week, down 1.1% year-on-year. The average price of compound feed for layer chickens is 3.23 RMB per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week, down 0.6% year-on-year.
