Analysis review
The upstream propylene market was fluctuating but stabilizing, while isooctanol prices were consolidating due to cost support. The downstream plasticizer market was weakening but stabilizing, with downstream purchasing activity weakening. Declining isooctanol plant operating rates, coupled with declining profits, had led isooctanol manufacturers to strongly raise prices, increasing support for isooctanol prices, while maintaining downward pressure.
