In 2024, domestic melamine production capacity reached 2.31 million tons, with output at 1.642 million tons—a 9.8% increase over 2023—and an enterprise operating rate of 71%. From January to August 2025, domestic capacity reached 2.42 million tons with output at 1.118 million tons, marking a 3.8% year-on-year increase, while the industry-wide operating rate declined to 69%.

By the end of 2025, total industry capacity is projected to reach 2.6 million tons, with an additional 940,000 tons of new capacity scheduled to come online in the coming years.
