According to the SunSirs commodity market analysis system, the price of color coated sheets fell slightly last week. The market price of color-coated steel sheets was 6,600 RMB/ton on September 22 and 6,600 RMB/ton on September 26, a decrease of 0.24% from the previous week and a rise of 9.09% from the same period last year.

Analysis review

Galvanized Sheet: Galvanized sheet prices fell slightly last week, reaching 4,200 RMB/ton on Friday (September 26th), down 0.213% from the previous week and up 3.39% from the same period last year. Downstream demand in the coating and plating market remained tepid, resulting in weak market transactions.

Market outlook

Last week, the supply of the five major steel varieties was 8.6493 million tons, a weekly increase of 94,700 tons, an increase of 1.1%; the total inventory was 15.1061 million tons, a weekly decrease of 91,300 tons, a decrease of 0.6%; the apparent consumption was 8.7406 million tons, a month-on-month increase of 2.8%.

Considering the arrival of the off-season, despite rising costs, most factories were still eager to ship goods, and their quotations remained high. Last week, most domestic plants were operating normally, production and sales were not yet balanced, and inventory was slightly accumulated. In the short term, it is expected that the price of color coated sheets will remain basically stable.
