Price trend

According to the SunSirs commodity market analysis system, color coated sheet prices stabilized this week. The market price of color coated sheet was 6,666 RMB/ton on September 1st, and remained at 6,666 RMB/ton on September 5th, a decrease of 0.744% from the previous week and a rise of 9.27% from the same period last year.

Analysis review

Galvanized sheet prices fell slightly this week, reaching 4,215 RMB/ton on Friday (September 5th), down 1.009% from the previous week and up 2.93% from the same period last year. Downstream demand in the coating and plating market remains tepid, leading to weak market transactions.

Future outlook:

This week, the supply of the five major steel varieties was 8.6065 million tons, a weekly decrease of 2.7%; the total inventory was 15.007 million tons, a weekly increase of 2.2%; the weekly apparent consumption was 8.2783 million tons, a weekly decrease of 3.5%, of which the consumption of building materials decreased by 1.8% and the consumption of plates decreased by 4.4%.

Considering the arrival of the off-season, despite rising costs, most factories are still eager to ship goods, and their quotations remain high. This week, most domestic plants are operating normally, production and sales are not yet balanced, and inventory is slightly accumulated. In the short term, it is expected that the price of color coated sheets will remain basically stable.
