Analysis review

The price of domestic activated charcoal manufacturers increased this week. The ex-factory price of coconut shell activated charcoal for water purification in East China is between 9,500 and 13,000 RMB/ton. At present, the market demand for coconut shell activated charcoal in traditional fields such as environmental protection, water treatment, and air purification continues to grow, and we will focus on market transactions.

From the supply side, Southeast Asia, as the world's main source of coconut shells, suffered multiple natural disasters in 2024. Drought and pests caused a reduction in coconut production in Thailand. Coconut production in the Philippines, Indonesia and other countries was also affected. This reduced the supply of coconut shell raw materials, leading to a shortage of coconut shell carbonized materials.

Market outlook

Transactions in the domestic market are accelerating, and it is expected that the price of activated charcoal will fluctuate and tend to be stronger in the short term.
