Price trend

According to the SunSirs commodity market analysis system, the price of color coated sheets stabilized this week. The market price of color coated sheets was 6,716 RMB/ton on August 25 and 6,716 RMB/ton on August 29, which was stable compared to last week’s previous week and up 10.09% compared to the same period last year.

Analysis review

Galvanized sheet prices saw a slight increase last week before declining. On Friday (August 29th), the price was 4,258 RMB/ton, down 0.745% from the previous week and up 1.14% from the same period last year. Downstream demand in the coating and plating market remained tepid, leading to weak market transactions.

Future outlook:

Last week, the supply of the five major steel varieties was 8.8461 million tons, a weekly increase of 65,500 tons, an increase of 0.7%; the inventory was 14.6788 million tons, a weekly increase of 268,400 tons, an increase of 1.9%; the consumption was 8.5777 million tons, of which the consumption of building materials increased by 4.2% month-on-month and the consumption of plates decreased by 1.2% month-on-month.

Considering the arrival of the off-season, despite rising costs, most factories were still eager to ship goods, and their quotations remained high. Last week, most domestic plants were operating normally, production and sales were not yet balanced, and inventory was slightly accumulated. In the short term, it is expected that the price of color coated sheets will remain basically stable.
