SunSirs: Bromine Prices Remained Strong on August 26
August 27 2025 16:20:12SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the SunSirs commodity market analysis system, bromine prices remained firm last week. On August 26, the average price in Shandong Province was 29,400 RMB/ton, up 0.68% and 42.03% year-on-year.

On August 25, the SunSirs Bromine Index was 103.16 points, unchanged from the previous day. This represents a 57.92% decrease from the cyclical high of 245.18 points (October 27, 2021), and a 75.08% increase from the intra-cyclical low of 58.92 points (October 29, 2014). (Note: The period refers to the period from September 1, 2011 to the present.)

Analysis review

Bromine prices remained firm last week, with spot prices in Shandong Province ranging from 28,000 to 31,000 RMB/ton ex-factory. Due to weather and regulatory factors, bromine manufacturers were facing tight inventories, and downstream companies were primarily focused on meeting demand.

Regarding raw materials: the average market price of sulfur on August 26th was 2,624.33 RMB/ton, up 82.88% year-on-year. Downstream demand was still acceptable.

Market outlook

Bromine prices have been firm recently, driven by a recent rise in upstream sulfur prices. Bromine prices were performing well last week, with downstream buyers primarily purchasing on demand. Overall market activity was generally average. It is generally expected that bromine may continue to maintain a strong trend in the later period, depending on the downstream market demand.
