Price trend

According to the SunSirs commodity market analysis system, color coated sheet prices stabilized this week. The market price of color coated sheet was 6,716 RMB/ton on August 18 and 22, respectively, a decrease of 0.25% from the previous week and a 9.2% increase from the same period last year.

Analysis review

Galvanized sheet prices saw a slight increase this week before declining. On Friday (August 22nd), the price is 4,290 RMB/ton, down 0.648% from the previous week and up 0.656% from the same period last year. Downstream demand in the coating and plating market remains tepid, leading to weak market transactions.

Market outlook

This week, supply of the five major steel varieties reaches 8.7806 million tons, a week-on-week increase of 64,300 tons. Total inventory of the five major steel varieties reaches 14.4104 million tons, a week-on-week increase of 250,700 tons. Weekly apparent consumption of the five major steel varieties reaches 8.5299 million tons, a week-on-week increase of 2.6%.

Considering the arrival of the off-season, despite rising costs, most factories are still eager to ship goods, and their quotations remain high. This week, most domestic plants are operating normally, production and sales are not yet balanced, and inventory is slightly accumulated. In the short term, it is expected that the price of color coated sheet will remain basically stable.
