August 15 2025 09:19:36SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the SunSirs’ commodity market analysis system, bromine prices remained firm last week. The average market price at the beginning of the week was 29,000 RMB/ton, and by the end of the week it was 29,200 RMB/ton, a 0.69% increase and a 41.06% year-on-year increase.

On August 13th, the SunSirs Bromine Index was 102.46 points, unchanged from the previous day. This was a 58.21% decrease from the intra-cyclical high of 245.18 points (October 27, 2021), and a 73.90% increase from the intra-cyclical low of 58.92 points on October 29, 2014. (Note: The period refers to the period from September 1, 2011 to the present.)

Analysis review

Bromine prices remained firm last week, with spot prices in Shandong Province ranging from 28,000 to 31,000 RMB/ton ex-factory. Due to weather and regulatory factors, bromine manufacturers were facing tight inventories, and downstream were primarily rigid companies.

Regarding raw materials, domestic sulfur prices rose, with the average market price at the beginning of the week at 2,591 RMB/ton and at the end of the week at 2,527.67 RMB/ton, a 1.42% increase and a 95.37% year-on-year increase. Downstream demand remained healthy.

Market outlook

Bromine prices have been firm recently, with upstream sulfur prices rising. Bromine prices were trending upward last week, with downstream buyers primarily purchasing on demand. Overall market activity was generally moderate. Bromine prices are expected to continue to consolidate in the future, depending on downstream market demand.
