Price trend
According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the price of bromine was running steadily last week. The average market price over the weekend was 27,200 RMB/ton, with a price increase of 1.12% and a year-on-year increase of 35.32%.
On July 24th, the SunSirs’ Bromine Index was 95.09 points, up 0.7 points from the previous day, down 61.22% from the highest point of 245.18 points during the cycle (2021-10-27), and up 61.39% from the lowest point of 58.92 points on October 29, 2014. (Note: The cycle refers to the period from September 1, 2011 to present)
Analysis review
Last week, the price of bromine remained stable, with a reference price of 26,500-28,000 RMB/ton for spot bromine production in Shandong region. Due to environmental policies, some enterprises had not fully resumed production. Most manufacturers focused on stabilizing prices, while downstream enterprises purchased based on urgent needs.
In terms of raw materials, the domestic sulfur price rose, with an average market price of 2,291 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week and 2,354.33 RMB/ton at the end of the week. The price increased by 2.76%, which was 86.11% higher than the same period last year. Downstream demand was generally average.
Future outlook:
Bromine prices were operating steadily recently, with upstream sulfur prices rising recently. Bromine prices were rising last week, and downstream buyers were purchasing as needed. Bromine enterprises focused on stabilizing prices. It is expected that bromine will continue to consolidate in the later period, depending on downstream market demand.
