The monthly report released by the Brazilian Cotton Growers Association (Abrapa) shows that Brazil exported 132800 tons of cotton in June 2025, a decrease of 17.2% compared to June 2024, creating $213.8 million in export revenue.

Bangladesh (38201 tons, accounting for 21%), Türkiye (23613 tons, accounting for 18%) and Vietnam (21402 tons, accounting for 12%) were the main export destinations of Brazilian cotton in June, with a total of 72933 tons, accounting for 55%.

As of the end of June, the cumulative export volume of Brazil's 2024/25 market year was 2.708 million tons, an increase of 7.7% compared to the same period in 2023/24 (August 2023 to June 2024), which is the highest export volume in history for the same period. Although there is still one month left in 2024/25, the export performance has already exceeded the full year of 2023/24.

It is expected that the cotton planting area in Brazil will be 2.14 million hectares by 2025, an increase of 10.3% compared to 2024. The expected production is 3.96 million tons, which is 7% higher than 2024. The average yield of cotton in 2025 is 1849 kilograms per hectare, a decrease of 2.9% compared to 2024.
