Price trend
Since July, the domestic acetone market has continued to decline. The domestic acetone market has been trading at an average price of 5,210 RMB/ton since July 1st, down to 4,880 RMB/ton on July 11th, a decrease of 6.38%; The East China market dropped from 5,010 RMB/ton to 4,750 RMB/ton, with the market dropping as low as 4,550 RMB/ton during this period.
Analysis review
Since July, domestic phenol ketone units have been continuously adjusted. As of July 11th, Hengli Petrochemical planned to shut down for maintenance around July 20th, which is expected to last for a week; Shanghai Xisa had a short-term maintenance plan at the end of the month. As of July 11th, Yanshan Petrochemical, Gaoqiao Petrochemical, Jilin Petrochemical, and Huizhou Zhongxin Phase I were undergoing long-term parking.
The operating rate of the downstream MIBK industry increased, while the operating rate of MMA declined with the reduction of negative load in the second phase of Zhejiang Petrochemical. The operating rate of the isopropanol industry also showed a slight decrease. The solvent industry was affected by high temperature weather and the rainy season in the south, and the overall demand for acetone decreased. The downstream purchasing sentiment was not high, and they mostly followed up with urgent needs.

Market outlook
From the perspective of SunSirs, the short-term acetone market is mainly characterized by range fluctuations. In early July, the acetone market experienced its lowest decline in nearly two years. In terms of supply, Yangzhou Shiyou had restarted, Zhenhai Refining and Chemical phenol ketone products were exported, and the four downstream industries had experienced some decline. As of July 11th, there was a lack of conditions to push up the market, and in the short term, the acetone market mainly fluctuate within a range.
