FAO predicts this month that global cereal production for 2025/2026 will reach a record high of 2.925 billion tons, an increase of 0.5% from last month's forecast and a growth of 2.3% from 2024/2025.
This upward adjustment is due to the improved production prospects of wheat, corn, and rice. However, some major production areas are expected to experience hot and dry weather, which may affect yield potential, especially for corn.
