High voltage and linear products saw a significant increase in June, while low-voltage products did not fluctuate significantly. In the first half of the month, the trend of polyethylene glycol fluctuated with little change in magnitude. Starting from mid month, due to the tense situation in the Middle East, international oil prices have risen, and the cost side is favorable for the rise in the polyethylene market. Petrochemical companies and traders have adjusted their prices accordingly. Especially for high-voltage products, the increase is significant due to high import dependence, and the market is concerned that the supply may be insufficient; At the same time, there are many high-pressure product equipment shutdowns for maintenance, including Yanshan Petrochemical, Wanhua Chemical, and Zhejiang Petrochemical. The demand for agricultural film is in the off-season, and most enterprises are in a state of shutdown, with few orders and limited transactions; The demand in the pipe industry and packaging film industry is average. The overall downstream demand for polyethylene is weak, limiting the room for price increases. In addition, there are signs of easing in the Middle East situation towards the end of the month, and market speculation has cooled down, leading to a slight correction in polyethylene prices.
Polyethylene fundamentals are weak, and it is expected that there will be insufficient upward momentum.
