Price trend

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the price of bromine was consolidating last week. The average market price at the beginning of the week was 25,000 RMB/ton, and the average market price over the weekend was 25,100 RMB/ton, with a price increase of 0.4%, which was 6.81% higher than the same period last year.

On June 19th, the SunSirs' Bromine Index was 88.07 points, unchanged from the previous day, a decrease of 64.08% from the highest point of 245.18 points (2021-10-27) during the cycle, and an increase of 49.47% from the lowest point of 58.92 points on October 29, 2014. (Note: The cycle refers to the period from September 1, 2011 to present)

Analysis review

Last week, the price of bromine remained stable, with a reference price of 25,000-26,500 RMB/ton for spot bromine production in Shandong region. The temperature rose last week, and domestic bromine enterprises had started working steadily. Most manufacturers focused on stabilizing prices, while downstream enterprises purchased based on urgent needs. In terms of raw materials, domestic sulfur prices were rising, with an average market price of 2,257.67 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week and 2,327.67 RMB/ton at the end of the week. The price had increased by 3.1%, which was 104.78% higher than the same period last year. Downstream demand was still acceptable.

Market outlook

The price of bromine has been temporarily stable in recent times, while the price of upstream sulfur has been generally stable. The price of bromine was consolidating this week, and downstream purchases were mostly made according to demand. Bromine enterprises focused on stabilizing prices. It is expected that bromine will continue to consolidate in the later period, depending on downstream market demand.
