Price trend

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the price of bromine remained stable last week. The average market price from the beginning of the week to the end of the week was 25,000 RMB/ton, an increase of 8.23% compared to the same period last year.

On June 12th, the SunSirs Bromine Index was 87.72 points, unchanged from the previous day, a decrease of 64.22% from the highest point of 245.18 points (2021-10-27) during the cycle, and an increase of 48.88% from the lowest point of 58.92 points on October 29, 2014. (Note: The cycle refers to the period from September 1, 2011 to present)

Analysis review

Last week, the price of bromine remained stable, with a reference price of 25,000-26,500 RMB/ton for spot bromine production in Shandong region. The temperature rose last week, and domestic bromine enterprises started working steadily. Most manufacturers focused on stabilizing prices, while downstream enterprises prioritized urgent needs.

In terms of raw materials, domestic sulfur prices were running weakly, with an average market price of 2,324.33 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week and 2,257.67 RMB/ton at the end of the week, a decrease of 2.87% and an increase of 102.79% compared to the same period last year. Downstream demand was generally average.

Market outlook

The price of bromine was temporarily stable in recent times, while the price of upstream sulfur was generally stable. The price of bromine was consolidating last week, and downstream purchases were mostly made according to demand. Bromine enterprises focused on stabilizing prices. It is expected that bromine will continue to consolidate in the later period, depending on downstream market demand.
