Analysis review

This week, the acetic acid market has been running weakly, and enterprise quotations have been lowered. On the supply side, the utilization rate of acetic acid production capacity in the market was relatively high, the supply of goods in the market was sufficient, and the sales pressure of enterprises was high. The downstream pre holiday stocking sentiment was not high, and a small amount of purchases were closely followed according to demand. The upstream methanol market was experiencing strong fluctuations. From April 26th to 30th, the average domestic market price increased from 2,417 RMB/ton to 2,440 RMB/ton, with an overall increase of 0.95%. The increase in pre holiday inventory of methanol downstream in mainland China provided good support for the market atmosphere, and the smooth shipment of enterprises. However, there was still a wait-and-see attitude towards some downstream high prices, and the overall price changes in the market were limited.

The downstream acetic anhydride market was running smoothly. On April 30th, the average ex factory price of acetic anhydride was 4,737.50 RMB/ton, which was the same as the price of 4,737.50 RMB/ton on April 26th. The upstream acetic acid market was weak, with a negative impact on the cost of acetic anhydride. Acetic anhydride companies had a weak mentality, while downstream companies followed up on demand before the holiday. The market trading atmosphere was still good, and acetic anhydride prices remained stable throughout the cycle.
