According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, domestic polyester filament prices fell this week. At present, the mainstream polyester filament factories in Jiangsu and Zhejiang offer POY (150D/48F) at 7600-7800 RMB/ton, polyester DTY (150D/48F low elasticity) at 9100-9400 RMB/ton, and polyester FDY (150D/96F) at 8100-8300 RMB/ton.

In early August, polyester factories started a new round of promotions. Compared with the previous price, the price of polyester filament was lowered, with a profit of 100-200 RMB/ton. The increase in inventory pressure of polyester factories is the most important reason for the promotion. The overall inventory of the polyester market is concentrated in 11-24 days. Secondly, in terms of raw materials, the domestic price of PTA has dropped from the highest point of 6110 RMB/ton to the current 5600 RMB/ton, a drop of 510 RMB/ton; the domestic price of ethylene glycol has dropped from the highest point of 4820 RMB/ton to the current 4596 RMB/ton, a drop of 224 RMB/ton. The downward trend of raw material prices has given polyester factories a greater profit margin, which has also prompted polyester factories to cut prices and make concessions.

Overall, the recent market of polyester filament has shown a price reduction, and the future market development will be affected by many factors, including raw material prices, market supply and demand, export situation and policy environment.
