SunSirs: The Hexafluoropropylene Market Experienced a Weak Downturn in May
June 05 2024 10:32:57SunSirs(John)

Price trend

Recently, the market price of hexafluoropropylene had shown a weak downward trend. Downstream demand was cold and procurement was not active, so there was temporarily no good news. According to the data monitoring system of SunSirs, as of May 31st, the benchmark price of hexafluoropropylene in SunSirs was 35,650.00 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.63% compared to the beginning of this month (35,875.00 RMB/ton).

Analysis review

Raw material side: High market prices were under pressure, and production enterprises had thin profits. According to the monitoring of the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the benchmark price of hydrofluoric acid in SunSirs was 11,620.00 RMB/ton, which was unchanged from the beginning of this month. The operation of hydrofluoric acid plants had not changed much, and some manufacturers of hydrofluoric acid had accumulated inventory. The mainstream price of hydrofluoric acid negotiated in various regions of China was 11,200-11,700 RMB/ton, and there were still units waiting for market shutdown. The spot supply of hydrofluoric acid was normal, and the operation of anhydrous hydrofluoric acid was about 60%. The overall domestic hydrofluoric acid price trend remained stable in May.

The downstream market was relatively quiet, with poor demand, and the focus was on purchasing for essential needs.

Market outlook

SunSirs’ hexafluoropropylene analyst predicts that due to the recent high cost support of hexafluoropropylene, downstream market demand was poor, and on-demand procurement was affected. It is expected that the hexafluoropropylene market will operate weakly and steadily in the near future. More attention should be paid to market news guidelines.
