SunSirs: Recently, the Price of Lithium Hexafluorophosphate in the Market Had Risen with Strong Support from the Raw Material End
March 20 2024 15:18:23SunSirs(John)

Price trend

Recently (March 11-15), the market price of lithium hexafluorophosphate had increased. As of March 15th, the mainstream price of lithium hexafluorophosphate was around 69,000 RMB/ton. As of March 15th, prices of some leading enterprises had increased by 5,000 RMB/ton compared to the 11th.

As of March 18th, the main factors affecting the market price of lithium hexafluorophosphate were as follows:

In terms of raw materials:

The market price of raw material lithium carbonate continued to rise, with strong cost support from lithium hexafluorophosphate enterprises. According to the monitoring system of SunSirs, as of March 15th, the benchmark price of SunSirs’ lithium carbonate was 107,400.00 RMB/ton, an increase of 15.73% compared to the beginning of this month (92,800.00 RMB/ton). Due to the shutdown and maintenance of some large factories, there was a relatively small supply of scattered goods in the market, and there was an expectation of supply tightening. But most enterprises had sufficient inventory and good operating conditions, and overall, the supply was gradually increasing.

Downstream:

Downstream electrolyte companies had a wait-and-see attitude, with a cold purchasing atmosphere and only maintaining a rigid demand for purchases. Due to some enterprises having a certain amount of reserves, their demand for raw materials was not active, market transmission was not smooth, and there was no good news. Overall, the downstream mainly focused on wait-and-see.

Market outlook

According to data analysts from SunSirs, the high price of raw material lithium carbonate supported the production cost pressure on lithium hexafluorophosphate enterprises. Most enterprises mainly consumed inventory. Although there were many market inquiries, the transaction volume was not ideal and needed improvement in downstream market demand. Overall, the market was in a state of supply-demand competition, and it is expected that the price of lithium hexafluorophosphate will continue to rise, with an upward space of 0-2,000 RMB/ton.
