SunSirs: China Cement Prices in East China continue to Decline
August 18 2023 10:44:36SunSirs(Selena)

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, cement in East China has recently experienced a weak decline. The price on August 9th was 325.00 RMB/ton, while the price on August 9th was 323.00 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.62% and a month on month decrease of 4.15%. The current price has decreased by 16.32% compared to last year.

Recently, cement prices have declined in some parts of East China. From the above chart, it can be seen that the cement market has been fluctuating and declining in the past three months, with prices slightly declining this week. Around August 10th, cement prices in Anqing, Jiangsu and other areas such as Suzhou Wuxi Changzhou decreased by 10-15 RMB/ton. In the current traditional high temperature off-season, some construction sites are in poor condition, and market demand is weak. The shipment volume of cement enterprises is only around 60-70%, and the market continues to bottom out.

Recently, the price of steam coal has been weak. In terms of origin, the coal mine maintains normal production, but the overall delivery performance is average. In terms of downstream ports, due to recent weather conditions, the daily consumption of power plants has decreased. Downstream procurement is mainly based on demand, but market transactions are average. It is expected that the price of thermal coal will be weak and stable in the later stage, depending on the downstream market demand.

Downstream funding issues are still ongoing, and demand recovery is poor. Specifically, the marginal investment in real estate has weakened again and is still bottoming out in the short term, with weak support for the cement market.

According to the prediction of SunSirs, after August, some regions will experience a tentative increase, and the upcoming Golden Age and Silver Age will soon lead to an increase in cement demand. Therefore, cement product analysts from SunSirs believe that in the short term, the cement market will mainly experience a slight upward trend.
