Price trend

As of July 14th, the daily average price of spot 304/2B stainless steel flat plates 1.0 * 1219 * 2438 (with a tolerance of 0.91) was 13,478.57 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.32% from 13,521.43 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week and a year-on-year decrease of 16.89%.

According to the price difference analysis tool of SunSirs, the price trends of nickel and stainless steel were mostly similar. Recently, there were differences in the prices of nickel and stainless steel, with the overall price of stainless steel being mainly weak and stable, while nickel prices experienced significant fluctuations.

Analysis review

This week's total stainless steel inventory was 101.216 tons, an increase of 0.2% compared to last week. Among them, cold rolled inventory decreased and hot rolled inventory increased.

On the raw material side, Indonesian nickel iron continued to arrive at the port, posing a risk of weakening nickel iron prices; The chromium iron factory resumed production and the transaction was light, but the price of chromium ore was strong, and due to cost support, chromium iron operated weakly and steadily. The cost support of steel mills had weakened, and production had been slightly profitable. In June and July, the production schedule of 300 series stainless steel remained relatively high, with an increase in the number of drifts and unloading ports in transit. The market expectation for subsequent resource arrivals had gradually increased, and the off-season market transactions were poor, and the supply and demand margin was weakened.
