SunSirs: The Market Was Weak, and the Price of Potassium Sulfate Dropped Slightly
April 04 2023 10:29:33SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the monitoring by SunSirs, the price of potassium sulfate content 50 at the beginning of this month was 3,950 RMB/ton, while the price of potassium sulfate content 50 at the end of this month was 3,933 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.42%.

Analysis review

In March, the domestic potassium sulfate market price declined, with the largest price decline in Northeast China. As of the 31st, the operating rate of the processing type Mannheim potassium sulfate plant was less than 50%, but the overall supply was relatively sufficient. The factory price of 50% Mannheim potassium sulfate powder was mostly 3,650-3,750 RMB/ton, and the factory price of 52% Mannheim potassium sulfate powder was mostly 3,750-3,900 RMB/ton. The price in the southern market was slightly higher, but the actual transaction was still negotiable. The production of the potassium plant of SDIC LuoBuPo Potash was normal, and the recent railway shipment had gradually improved, with an increase in the shipment volume, and a significant increase in the arrival of goods in various regions.

Recently, the plant operating rate of downstream compound fertilizer plants had been at a slowly declining level. The spring market had ended, but the summer had not yet started. Downstream plants were in a state of stagnation. In addition, as the prices of raw materials, nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, continued to decline, factory procurement was relatively cautious, and even manufacturers in the northeast region were also selling off their raw material inventory.

Market outlook

The trading atmosphere in the domestic potash fertilizer market is cautious, and it is expected that the market price may be dominated by a weak consolidation trend.
