SunSirs: Demand Was Weak, and the Price of Potassium Sulfate Fell
February 20 2023 11:19:25SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the monitoring of SunSirs, the price of potassium sulfate content 50 at the beginning of this week was 3,966 RMB/ton, and the price of potassium sulfate content 50 at the end of this week was 3,933 RMB/ton, down 0.84%.

Analysis review

The domestic market price of potassium sulfate declined slightly, and the start of Mannheim potassium sulfate always maintained at a level of more than 40%. Under the condition that the demand of downstream factories for potassium sulfate supply was not strong, the market supply was under great competitive pressure, and the price had a slight correction. On the 17th, the ex-factory price of 50% Mannheim potassium sulfate powder was mostly 3,800-3,900 RMB/ton, the ex-factory price of 52% potassium sulfate powder was 4,000-4,050 RMB/ton, and the granular potassium sulfate was basically the same as 52% powder, but the actual transaction was negotiable, even lower than the low-end price in some regions.

The main large compound fertilizer enterprises in the downstream had a high rate of plant operation, and most of them mainly focus on the delivery of orders in the early stage. Under the situation that the trend of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium raw materials was not good, the demand for potash fertilizer supply was not large, and most of the early supply had not been completed, so the procurement of new sources was prudent.

Market outlook

The domestic potash fertilizer market pressure is relatively obvious. Under the condition of centralized supply and relatively sufficient supply, the demand side support is not sufficient. It is expected that the price of potassium sulfate may be mainly sorted out by shocks.
