February 03 2023 09:51:18SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, the price of bromine dropped in January. At the beginning of the month, the average market price of bromine was 44,600 RMB/ton, and at the end of the month, the average market price of bromine was 40,000 RMB/ton, down 10.31%, and down 30.69% year on year.

The bromine commodity index on January 30 was 140.35, down 0.7 points from the previous day, down 42.76% from the cycle's highest point of 245.18 points (2021-10-27), and up 138.20% from the lowest point of 58.92 points on October 29, 2014. (Note: the cycle refers to 2011-09-01 to now).

Analysis review

The bromine price was weak overall this month. As the weather turned colder, the downstream flame retardant and intermediate industries started to maintain a low load, and the willingness to purchase was relatively low, and most of them were mainly on demand. After the Spring Festival, bromine manufacturers still had a small amount of inventory, mainly digested inventory. However, the downstream transaction was weak and they gave up profits to ship.

As of the 31st, the sulfur market was in a wait-and-see operation, the production of the manufacturers was stable, the downstream sulfuric acid market was in a wait-and-see operation, the support for sulfur was limited, the enterprise supply was stable, and the short-term market was in a wait-and-see operation.

Market outlook

Analysts from SunSirs believe that the price of bromine was weak this month, the support of the downstream flame retardant and intermediate industry of bromine was general, the price of sulfur in the upstream was falling, most of bromine enterprises mainly consumed inventory, and gave up profits for downstream enterprises, and the supply and demand gamed. It is comprehensively estimated that the bromine price will be weak and consolidated in the short term, depending on the downstream market demand.
