Price trend

Recently, the domestic spandex market has stopped falling and stabilized. As of December 21, the average market price of 40D spandex was 35,500 RMB/ton. The spandex industry started around 60%, and the spot supply was basically sufficient.

Analysis review

The cost side support was fair, PTMEG market was mainly wait-and-see, sorting and price keeping, and the interest giving intention was temporarily limited. The 1800 molecular weight market offer was 18,500-19,000 RMB/ton. The operating rate of PTMEG industry dropped to 6.1%, and the factory inventory pressure was average. The pure MDI price continued to rise, and the market reference price was 17,000-17,400 RMB/ton. The supply of goods was in short supply, and the quotation of traders continued to rise.

Downstream end customers were not very motivated to take delivery of goods, and they just followed up in needed. The terminal entered the seasonal off-season at the end of the year, and the weaving market further reduced the operating rate. At present, 30% of the circular knitting machines and 50% of the warp knitting machines are started. Some end enterprises will gradually enter parking and vacation at the end of this month, which will be a drag on the demand side.

Market outlook

SunSirs’ analysts believe that the current cost support is maintained, but the downstream end customers remain in a wait-and-see attitude towards the future market, and it is expected that the price center of the spandex market will be weaker in the short term.
