Since August, the domestic spandex market has maintained a downward trend. According to the price monitoring of SunSirs, as of August 15, the average market price of spandex was 34,100 RMB/ton, down 6.58% from the beginning of the month and down 59.01% from the same period last year. The supply of spandex manufacturers is stable, and the spandex industry has started 6.0% of the production, and the start of production has declined.
Analysis review
The cost-side support is weakened, the market price of PTMEG is weak and fluctuating, and suppliers continue to make profits-cutting. The market price of PTMEG (1800 molecular weight) was 24,000-25,000 RMB/ton. The pure MDI market declined slightly, with traders mostly shipping with them, and the downstream demand was sluggish. The reference price of the MDI market was 18,200-18,700 RMB/ton.
More than half of August, the downstream terminal market just needs to get the goods, the overall market has a strong wait-and-see atmosphere, and the actual production is determined by sales. At the same time, due to the current orderly electricity consumption policy implemented in Zhejiang, some enterprises have stopped and reduced their burdens. 30-40% of the construction in the circular knitting field and 60% in the warp knitting field have started, and the overall operating rate has dropped significantly.
Market outlook
The analyst of SunSirs believes that the supporting role of the cost side is reduced, and downstream customers continue to purchase just in need. All parties are cautious about the market outlook, and it is expected that the spandex market will operate weakly in the short term.
