According to the monitoring data of SunSirs, the domestic market price of isobutyraldehyde fell sharply this week. This week, the average price of isobutyraldehyde in the mainstream domestic market fell from 8,466.67 RMB/ton on last weekend to 7,366.67 RMB/ton on this weekend, a decrease of 12.99%.

On July 10, the isobutyraldehyde commodity index was 37.39, the same as previous day, down 64.59% from the highest point of 105.58 points in the cycle (2021-09-16), and up 5.24% from the lowest point of 35.53 points on December 11, 2021. (Note: The cycle refers to 2021-09-01 to the present)

From the perspective of the upstream and downstream industry chain, in the upstream raw material market of isobutyraldehyde, the propylene market fell slightly this week. The price fell from 7,680.60 RMB/ton last weekend to 7,460.60 RMB/ton this weekend, a decrease of 2.86%. The market price of upstream raw materials fell slightly, and the cost support was insufficient. Affected by the supply and demand side, it had a negative impact on the price of isobutyraldehyde. From the perspective of the downstream industry chain, the market price of neopentyl glycol fell slightly, and the price fell from 12,833.33 RMB/ton at the end of last week to 12,233.33 RMB/ton at the end of this week, a decrease of 4.68%. The market price of neopentyl glycol fell slightly, and the downstream demand weakened, which had a negative impact on isobutyraldehyde.

Market outlook

In mid-July, the market trend of isobutyraldehyde may be mainly down slightly. The upstream propylene market fell slightly, and the cost support was insufficient. The downstream neopentyl glycol market fell slightly, and the enthusiasm for downstream purchases weakened.
