According to statistics from SunSirs, in June, the price of seamless tubes fluctuated and fell. At the beginning of the month 20#, the quotation of 108*4.5 seamless tube was 6,130 RMB/ton, and it fell to 5,930 RMB/ton at the end of the month, down 3.1% and down 0.29% year-on-year.
Analysis review
Upstream, iron ore fell sharply. The overhaul plans of various steel mills are ahead of schedule, the supply of broken pipes will drop slightly, and the shipment of billets will be poor. Many pipe factories have maintenance plans, and the enthusiasm for purchasing billets is weak.
In terms of demand, since Shanghai fully promoted the resumption of work and production in June, the mainstream market demand for seamless tubes has been tepid. In addition, the arrival of the rainy season in the southern region indirectly affects the construction progress and the traditional high temperature rainy season, which inhibits the growth rate of demand. The overall operating rate of the downstream is lower than expected, the willingness to purchase downstream is low, and the overall transaction remains at an average level.
In June, both seamless tube inventories and operating rates are at high levels.
