On May 18, the price of viscose staple fiber rose steadily, some manufacturers raised the price of viscose staple fiber by 200-300 RMB/ton, and the trading atmosphere improved and showed an upward trend. The price of downstream rayon yarn was stable, but the downstream demand was general.
Analysis review
According to the price monitoring of SunSirs, as of May 18, 2022, the domestic ex-factory price of 1.2D*38mm viscose staple fiber was 14,960 RMB/ton, an increase of about 150 RMB/ton from previous day. The average ex-factory price of rayon yarn (30S, ring spinning, first-class products) was 19,100 RMB/ton, which was the same as previous day's price.
Market outlook
Under the influence of cost pressure, viscose staple fiber manufacturers have raised prices many times since May, and it is difficult to make concessions in recent prices. Analysts of SunSirs predict that viscose staple fiber will be mainly run at a high level in the short term, and the price will be around 15,000 RMB/ton.
