May 08 2021 14:07:08     SunSirs (Selena)

According to the data from SunSirs, the price of petroleum coke products of domestic refineries continued to rise. On April 30, the average price of Shandong market was 2,125.00 yuan / ton, which was 3.01% higher than the average price of 2,063.00 yuan / ton on April 26, and 101.42% higher than that of last year. On April 30, the petroleum coke commodity index was 165.28, up 2.49 points from yesterday, a record high in the cycle, up 147.09% from the lowest point of 66.89 on March 28, 2016(Note: period refers to the period from September 30, 2012 to now)

Last week, the inventory of local petroleum coke was low, and the price continued to rise. The demand of low sulfur coke in the downstream is stable, and the price is stable at a high level. The price of medium and high sulfur coke continues to rise due to the rising price of electrolytic aluminum, partial maintenance of refineries and dual effects of supply and demand.

Industry: according to the price monitoring of SunSirs, in the 17th week of 2021 (4.26-4.30), there were 12 kinds of commodities in the energy sector that rose on a month on month basis, including 1 kind of commodity that rose by more than 5%, accounting for 6.3% of the number of commodities monitored in the sector; The top three commodities were WTI crude oil (5.14%), coke (4.81%) and petroleum coke (3.01%). There were three kinds of commodities that declined on a month on month basis, and the top three products were LPG (-2.56%), MTBE (-1.27%) and LNG (-0.11%). Last week, the average rise or fall was 1.25%.

SunSirs petroleum coke analysts think that: the storage of petroleum coke from local refining is low, the market supply and demand is good at present, the price of electrolytic aluminum rises sharply, and it is expected that petroleum coke will be stable and upward after May Day in China.
