SunSirs: Raw Materials Boosted CPL Market Bullish (April 19-25)

According to the bulk data monitoring of SunSirs, the acetic acid market rose strongly this week. At the weekend, the price of acetic acid was 7,325.00 RMB/ton, which was 2.59% higher than the average ex factory price of 7,140.00 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week and up 19.24% month-on-month.

Analysis review

As of April 25, Nanjing Oriental’s CPL liquid price was 14,300 RMB/ton, the 400,000-ton/year plant was operating normally, and the CPL plant was operating normally. The price of Sinopec CPL liquid was 13,900 RMB/ton. Baling Hengyi CPL liquid price was 13,900 RMB/ton, and the 450,000-ton/year plant starts up normally. Baling Petrochemical’s CPL liquid price was 13,900 RMB/ton, and the 300,000-ton/year plant started up normally. Shandong Luxi Chemical's CPL liquid price was 12,900 RMB/ton, the manufacturer's production capacity was 300,000-ton/year, and the device was in normal production.

The price of raw material pure benzene rose continuously this week. As the price of pure benzene in Europe and the United States rose sharply, the price of pure benzene in Asia rose rapidly, and the amount of imported pure benzene decreased, and the domestic market also rose accordingly. In addition, the downstream price of styrene continued to rise due to tight supply, which supported the price of pure benzene to rise to a high level.

Market outlook

The CPL analyst of SunSirs believes that CPL has risen due to the strong push of the raw material pure benzene rising. Some companies have overhauled their installations and their supply has been reduced. It is expected that the cost may continue to rise in the short term, and the price of CPL is likely to continue to rise when the cost is favorable.
