SunSirs: Aniline Prices Were Stable This Week (January 4-10)

According to data from SunSirs’ bulk list, aniline is running at a high price this week. On January 10, the price in Shandong was 7,800-7,900 RMB/ton; the price of aniline in Nanjing was 8,000-8,100 RMB/ton, the average price was the same as last week, the same as the beginning of the month, and 23.44% higher than the same period last year.

Analysis review

In terms of costs, crude oil rose rapidly this week, and cost support became stronger; coupled with a wide increase in Asian pure benzene; downstream styrene prices rebounded, pure benzene fluctuated higher this week. This week, the listing price of Sinopec's pure benzene increased by 150 RMB/ton to 4,550 RMB/ton, and the price in some parts of North China to 4,350 RMB/ton. The total amount of pure benzene stocks at East China ports on Monday rose by about 2 million tons from last week. On this Sunday (January 10), the price of pure benzene was 4,170-4,550 RMB/ton (average price of 4,424 RMB/ton), an increase of 200 RMB/ton or 4.73% from last week.

The price of nitric acid this week was the same as that of last week. On Friday (January 8), the production price of nitric acid in East China was 2050 RMB/ton. The price was flat compared with the beginning of the month; it was 28.12% higher than the same period last year.

The price of aniline was quite stable this week, and the operating rate increased from last week. At present, Jinmao's aniline plant has restarted and shipped normally, and the supply of aniline is expected to increase in the future.

Market outlook

In terms of costs, crude oil and external disks are well supported, and downstream styrene prices still have room to rise in the short term. It is expected that pure benzene may still rise next week. In the later period, attention should be paid to the changes in pure benzene inventory and the trend of styrene.

Pay attention to the changes in the supply of aniline market, the purchase of downstream additives and MDI. The price of aniline is expected to decline slightly.
