SunSirs: Both Raw Material Prices and DOP Prices Rose Again

According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, the price of plasticizer DOP first fell and then rose in December. As of December 16, the average price of DOP was 10,266.67 RMB/ton, an increase of 5.12% from the DOP price at the beginning of the month. The price of DOP has risen sharply due to the increase in raw material prices.

The market for upstream in the industry chain

It can be seen from the 2-EH price chart that the price of 2-EH rose sharply after falling in December, and the 2-EH market soared in December. The cost of DOP increased, and the momentum for DOP to rise was greater.

The market for downstream in the industry chain

It can be seen from the PVC price chart that the price of PVC fluctuated and stabilized after a sharp rise in December. The price of PVC has risen, and the demand for DOP has recovered. The rise of DOP has been greatly supported, and the market for plasticizer DOP is good.

Market outlook

The DOP data analyst of SunSirs believes that in the downstream, the PVC market rose in December, and the DOP demand rose, and the DOP market was positive. In terms of raw materials, the decline in the price of phthalic anhydride offset the favorable support of the rise in PVC; but with the sudden increase in the price of 2-EH, it became the last straw to crush DOP, and the price of DOP followed the skyrocketing. In the market outlook, the price of DOP raw material 2-EH has risen, and the price of phthalic anhydride has fallen, the cost of DOP has basically stabilized, the rise of DOP is insufficient, the PVC market has maintained stability, and the momentum of DOP in the market outlook is insufficient. It is expected that the DOP market will be strong and stable in the market outlook.
